Get in Touch for Records

Marshall County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm a live custody status, release anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Direct those requests to the public office that holds the record.

Marshall County Records Contacts

For a sheriff-held record or an arrest-verification question, contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office: 601 Seventh Street, Moundsville, WV 26041, 304-843-1500. The office lists administrative hours as Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No separate records number was located, so a formal request should be addressed to the records custodian. The sheriff’s email form is not monitored around the clock and ordinary email is not secure. Call 911 for an emergency.

For current regional custody, visitation procedures, release-status routing, or a DCR-held intake record, contact Northern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility: 112 Northern Regional Correction Drive, Moundsville, WV 26041, 304-843-4067. The jail is a regional state facility, not a county sheriff roster. Limit calls to custody, visitation, record-routing, or release-status procedure, and do not ask staff to disclose protected information.

Requests for public records should name the person, approximate date, agency, and requested record. Under W. Va. Code §29B-1-3, a sufficiently specific request receives a response within a maximum of five days, excluding weekends and legal holidays. The allowed charge is actual reproduction cost, not search or retrieval time. An exemption can still allow a record to be redacted or withheld.

Use the office that fits the question:

  • For a current regional-jail lookup or daily admission, start with the WVDCR offender-search page, then call Northern Regional Jail if the status is unclear.
  • For a sheriff arrest record or a request that needs a county custodian, use the sheriff’s office at the contact above.
  • For a magistrate or circuit case event, record number, or court-copy question, contact the Marshall Circuit Clerk at 600 Seventh Street, Room 127, Moundsville, WV 26041, 304-845-2130, or use the West Virginia court-record access page.
  • For a newly booked person or an official records-request outline, see the Marshall County custody and records path.
  • For an outstanding-warrant lead, use the sheriff’s official sources summarized on the Most Wanted page, then verify with the sheriff or court.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, use the WVDCR prison-search option available from the state offender-search page.
  • For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator; immigration-custody questions belong with the ICE Online Detainee Locator.
